At Sum we believe in transparency and honesty. We promise not to capitalize on our users' data, and we don't believe ads make for a good user experience.

We're in an early stage and there are still some unknowns, but we know we want to provide a stable, free and neutral service where your data and relationships are safe. Your Content
Our Services allow you to upload, submit, store, send or receive content. You retain ownership of your rights in that content — if it's yours, it stays yours.
We only have limited rights to use your content so we can provide and improve our Services. In legal terms: you give us rights to your content to the extent necessary to operate, promote, and improve our Services, and to develop new ones.
Content from Our Users
Much of the content available in the Services isn't from Sum. That content is the sole responsibility of the person or entity that makes it available. We may review unencrypted content to determine whether it is illegal or violates our policies, and we may remove or refuse to display content that we reasonably believe violates our policies or the law. That does not mean we always review content, so please don't assume we do.
Minimum Age
Even though we aim to provide a service that is safe for all ages, we are unable to prioritise the legal documents and control mechanisms associated with offering a service for children.
Our Services are therefore not directed to children at this point, and you may not use our Services if you are under the age of 13. You must also be old enough to consent to the processing of your personal data in your country (in some countries we may allow your parent or guardian to do so on your behalf).
Your Promise to Us When You Use Our Services
You agree that you will not misuse the Services. For example, don't interfere with our Services or try to access them using methods we don't provide to you. You may use our Services only as permitted by law. We may suspend or stop providing our Services to you if you do not comply with our terms or policies, or if we are investigating suspected misconduct.
Our Intellectual Property Rights
You agree that your intellectual property rights in our Services are limited to your right to use the Services. Using our Services does not give you ownership of any intellectual property rights in our Services or the content you access.
Your Sum Account
To protect your Sum account, make sure your connected email address is always up to date.
You are responsible for the activity that happens on or through your Sum account. In connection with your use of the Services, we may send you service announcements, administrative messages, and other information. You can opt out of some of those communications.
Copyright Protection
We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement and terminate accounts of repeat infringers as required by law. If you think somebody is violating your copyrights, please notify us by sending your request to the email in the Contact section below.
Modifying and Terminating our Services
We are constantly changing and improving our Services. We may add or remove functionality and we may suspend or stop a Service altogether. Some of our software may update automatically on your devices.
You can stop using our Services at any time. Sum may also stop providing Services to you, or add or create new limits to our Services, at any time. We believe that you own your data and preserving your access to it is important. If we discontinue a Service, where reasonably possible, we'll give you reasonable advance notice and a chance to get information out of that Service.
Changes
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we update them, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top and provide any other notice required by applicable law. We recommend reviewing the Terms each time you visit the Platform.
